Make up blog 10 Body Image

The media has such an impacted on how people think they should look by posting it all over the place from magazines to TV adds and movies. By your average person seeing it all the time they get the impression that it's okay to look like a Victoria Secret Model whose 5'10 but in reality we should embrass that we all can't be supermodels. Some celebrities are proud to show off their curves and hate that some magazines photoshop their covers because in a way it's telling them you need to look like this. For example Kate Winslet was on the cover of GQ and she noticed herself that something wasn't right about the cover.
The British issue of GQ magazine went too far in Kate’s opinion: “The retouching is excessive. I do not look like that and more importantly I don’t desire to look like that”. This GQ magazine cover was digitally altered, says GQ editor Dylan Jones in this BBC report. Of the cover photo, Kate said, “I actually have a Polaroid that the photographer gave me on the day of the shoot… I can tell you they’ve reduced the size of my legs by about a third. For my money it looks pretty good the way it was taken.” (PhotoshopNews) Having a celebrity embress her curves its what we need to tell to younger girls and boys because if they hear about celebrities that aren't stick thin and are proud of it, then this will help young boys and girls except themselves. By doing this it helps  by not having an eating disorder and taking diet pills at a young age. We all need to stop and think about what the media is drilling into our brain and remeber its us who suffers not them.
